The ICANN Accreditation of bNamed is a fact since September 2009. We were the first ICANN Accredited Registrar in Belgium. This accreditation is a recognition of ICANN for bNamed. Through this recognition ICANN confirms that, after a full review of bNamed, they have confirmed they find us a reliable registrar who has sufficient knowledge and expertise to provide gTLDs directly.
Thanks to this accreditation, we don't need to work through an intermediary anymore to offer the generic extensions (gTLD's) such as .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .tel, .jobs,… bNamed can now offer those gTLD's directly, which obviously boosts our flexibility.
We can decide ourselves which information for those general extensions is shown in the Whois, which is especially important for our resellers. This way their own name will appear in the Whois, not the name of their registrar. Moreover, we're able to decide what transfer mails will look like and we can allow transfers via both Dutch and French fax paperwork.
